A New and Elegant General Atlas of the World Comprehending all the Empires, Kingdoms & States in the Old and New Hemispheres, Taken from the Most Celebrated Modern Geographers and Carefully corrected to the Present Period and Beautifully Engraved on 59 Copper Plates. Edinburgh: Daniel Lizars, [c.1810]. Engraved title-page and 59 hand-colored folding maps. Folio (425 x 299 mm). Period half brown calf over marbled boards. Title-page and several maps detached, three maps (Europe, France, and Scotland) separated at fold, significant closed tear to map of France, offset, but maps generally clean and attractive, covers detached and worn, spine mostly absent.

A handsome early 19th century atlas with several attractive maps of the Americas, all of which are in excellent condition.
Provenance: Bookplate of the Royal Hotel in Edinburgh.
