McManus, Lyman Young, Walt Disney, Alex Raymond, Hal Foster, Chic Young, Jimmy Murphy, Dudley Fisher, O. Soglow, Ripley, Fred Lasswell, and others; the cartoon characters frame a large drawing of Captain Ben Dix, each cartoon with a balloon and signed by the artist; together with a handwritten testimonial document, watercolor on paper….In Testimony to Ernest Beech Whose vision made possible the addition of Captain Ben Dix to the galaxy of beloved cartoon characters, whose message of laughter, entertainment and education gives new horizon to the daily lives of millions of Americans. Be it known by these present therefore, that Ernest Beech is awarded the degree…Distinquished friend of the Comics, all 20 artists signed the document, both are matted and framed.
