Find your local specialistA Ginger Rogers dress from "The Barkleys of Broadway"
Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, 1949. A two-tone sheer pink and peach-colored chiffon evening gown with spaghetti straps and a long train; a typed label on the inside lining reads "G. Rogers 1433-5409" while an orange paper MGM drycleaning tag is stapled next to it; worn by the star towards the end of the film when she and Fred Astaire [as the Barkleys] are deciding to get back together which, of course, calls for a dance number. Included is a vintage print black and white still showing Rogers wearing this costume in a publicity shot. (Please note this dress is now in very poor condition and would benefit from restoration by a professional textile expert. Also, the brooch in the catalogue photograph is not part of the original costume.)
