Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, 1947. An ornate Victorian-style gown made of olive green velvet, silk and taffeta worn by the actress as she portrayed Lutie Cameron Brewton in the film that also starred Spencer Tracy; an inside label with a handwritten annotation penned in black fountain pen ink reads "Katherine [sic] Hepburn" and an MGM drycleaning tag is affixed to the interior. Included is a reprinted black and white image showing Hepburn wearing this costume as she sits next to the film's director, Elia Kazan. (Please note the silk portion of this dress is very brittle and shows tears and rips throughout.)
