A Katharine Hepburn set of wooden shoe lasts, 1940s

Molded from the actress' actual feet by one of her shoemakers (possibly Salvatore Ferragamo), the lasts show she had a large but very narrow foot - probably a size 9AA; both forms display numerous nail holes where the leather would have been fitted; housed in a box with a handwritten notation in black ink reading "Katherin [sic] Hepburn. Included in box are pattern pieces for shoe parts and scraps of light brown leather used to make Hepburn a pair of sandals.
Length: 10 1/4in
