One of the plaster masks made from the actor's face while he was still alive, though this one was likely created by Kendall from the original mold after Dean's death; painted in tones to simulate realistic skin, eyes, eyebrows, and lips; the interior has a handwritten annotation in pencil reading "Life Mask / James Dean at 24 / Feb. 8, 1931 - Sept 30, 1955 / Celebrated Actor / KK;" displayed on a stand in a clear lucite box. Included is a vintage index card with some typed information about this piece as well as six postcards signed by Kenneth Kendall.
