A Rudolph Valentino-related catalogue from the auction titled "The Estate of Rudolph Valentino," 1926

From the sad estate sale that took place on December 10, 1926 in Los Angeles, just four months after the screen legend died prematurely; 94 pages with a number of black and white images of the lots being sold which included his actual houses [the Whitley Heights home and the Beverly Hills mansion - 'Falcon Lair'], furniture, decorative arts, clothing, personal effects, and even his seven dogs! A number of penciled annotations by the original owner who attended the auction are evident on a few pages, including some the prices realized during this now-historic event. Later, this catalogue was donated to The Los Angeles County Museum of Art (for their permanent library) and was bound by them, though all parts of the original catalogue are still intact.
