Footnotes
Moreau made his debut at the 1859 Paris Salon. The majority of his œuvre comprises figures of children and young girls, for the most part these are allegorical figures. In addition, he worked with similar subjects as did his brother Auguste, who was also a sculptor. He was prolific both in marble and bronze statuary.
