A late 19th Century German walnut quarter-striking mantel or bracket clock

Lenzkirch, circa 1898
Having a 5-inch arched brass dial with silvered chapter ring having Roman hours and Arabic minutes framing a matted centre, within cast foliate spandrels, the two-train movement, quarter-striking on two coiled gongs, stamped "LENZKIRCH/ A.G.U./56 1 Million/181886", the case with palmette cresting to the spreading surmount, between pine-cone finials, the bevelled arch-glazed door between term-applied canted corners on a stepped base and block feet 38.5cm high (sold with pendulum)
