An early 18th Century and later brass lantern timepiece

Having an associated 7-inch broken-arched dial, the silvered chapter ring with an inner band of single-hand quarter-hour divisions, framing a matted centre, within foliate scroll spandrels, the arch with silvered boss engraved "Robert Cutbush in Maidston" within chevron border, flanked by further spandrels, the largely original rope-driven movement with verge-and-crownwheel escapement and four-spoke wheelwork, countwheel-striking on a bell surmounted by an urn finial and later cruciform strap over further urn corner finials and shaped pierced side-frets over later doors, brass ball feet and rear iron spikes for beam-mounting 38cm high
