The catalogue describes the drawing as from a sketchbook of circa 1898, which included studies for 'The Brazen Serpent' for which John was awarded the Slade School Summer Prize in 1898, music hall sketches made at The Alhambra, and other figure studies. The sketchbook size was 8 x 6.5in.
