The mounted manuscript written and illustrated in ink, colour and heightened in gilt with motifs and text, framed. 42cm x 53cm.

Footnotes

The 'farman' or government order is dated May 1901 and is written in Farsi by Zel ol Soltan, the brother of Nasserddin Shah, who was the ruler of Isfahan. It states that any person who does not co-operate with or pay for the costs of the water, the order has been issued that they will not get a supply of water.
