A group of Japanese lacquer items

Meiji Period
To include a gold lacquer kobako, or lidded box, of circular form, decorated in hiramakie with a butterfly above a flowering branch, the interior with further butterflies on a nashiji ground, a small jubako, or tiered container, decorated with flowering plants on a nashiji ground, and a vase or sake bottle, decorated with cranes flying amidst pine branches on a black ground. Kobako 8.5cm diam, jubako 5.5cm high, vase 21.5cm high (some chipping to vase). (3)
