A Japanese ivory model of a boat

Meiji Period
Of sectional form, the deck applied with a figure seated smoking a pipe, and another standing with a mallet in his left hand, around them bales of straw, fabric wrapped parcels and straw baskets, the sides of the boat carved with cresting waves, together with a carved wooden stand. 59cm long (some minor damage and losses).
