A Japanese Imari porcelain bowl

Meiji Period
Of shallow circular form, decorated to the centre in underglaze blue with a medallion depicting a phoenix and Buddhist treasures, surrounded by alternating shaped panels of 'black ships' and groups of conversing Dutchmen, 21.5cm diam, together with an Imari bowl, the deep sides decorated to the interior and exterior with alternating panels of phoenixes and flowers, 18.5cm diam, and an Imari jar and cover of baluster shape with shaped panels of vases of flowers, 27.5cm high (crack to cover).
