A Japanese Arita porcelain vase

Meiji Period
Of ovoid shape sitting on a tapering base, applied in relief with a bird sitting in a flowering prunus branch, painted in coloured enamels with bamboo shoots issuing from flowering chrysanthemums, a band of butterflies to the rim, one of phoenixes to the base. 42cm high, signed in iron-red enamels Hichozan Shinpo Sei to the base (some losses).
