A Japanese lacquered porcelain umbrella stand

Meiji Period
Of cylindrical form with twin loop handles and four applied circular bosses to the base, the body lacquered in black and red with gilt highlights with shaped panels depicting fish and birds flying amidst flowering shrubs, reserved against a ground of geometric panels of varying diaper pattern. 101.5cm high.
