An unusual and well engineered 4 3/4in gauge model of a NER Worsdell Class Q1 4-4-0 locomotive and tender. Built circa 1890 by the Chief engineer of Oldham Gas Works. Note - A loco of this class represented the NER in the Race to Scotland of 1895.

with copper boiler with fittings including water and pressure gauges, safety, blower, whistle and clack valves. Chassis details include twin inside cylinders with Allen straight link valve gear, eccentric driven feed pump and bypass, working leaf springs and compensated springing to bogie, leaf sprung rear axle, dummy brake gear, whistle and other details. Tender details include hand feed pump, hand operated brake gear, working leaf springs, steps and hand irons, finished in NER livery, (Some restoration circa 1970), 13 3/4x53in (35x134.5cm).
