Built by - Edwards. Edwards was the owner, designer and Managing Director of Edwards Engineering, Bolton. He designed the first hydraulic tipping gear in the early 1900's. Circa 1950 the company became Edbro Tippers Ltd.

A well engineered early 20th century model four pillar inverted vertical stationary engine.

Built by - Edwards.
With mahogany lagged, single acting cylinder approx 1in bore x 1 1/2in stroke, cylinder head mounted valve chest with slide valve operated by eccentric and rocking levers, tapered connecting rod with marine type big end, counterbalanced crank and spoked flywheel, the rim with multi-rope grooves, the whole mounted on a chequerplate floor and cast bed, finished in green, 9x7 1/4in (22.8x18.4cm, excluding pipework). (Edwards was the owner, designer and Managing Director of Edwards Engineering, Bolton. He designed the first hydraulic tipping gear in the early 1900's. Circa 1950 the company became Edbro Tippers Ltd.)
