A fine exhibition standard small scale brass model of a Maudslay-style single cylinder condensing steeple engine.

With cylinder 5/8in bore x 1 1/2in stroke mounted on four columns with relieved panels and arched tops with floor above and bridge pieces supporting the crankshaft bearings, the outer mounted on an 'A' bracket with spoked flywheel. Other details include centrally mounted valve chest with seperate steamways, eccentric rod, rocking lever and gear driven semi-rotary plug valve, gear driven Walt-type governor, linkage and valve, roller guided crosshead guides, floor mounted air and feed pumps inside water tanks, the pumps operated by eccentric driven rocking beams anchored at opposite sides of the entablature, the whole finished in brightwork and mounted on a marble plinth, 8 1/2x5in (21.5x12.7cm).
