Footnotes
Curious to find three names listed on a pair of sculls, perhaps one was the cox. WH Grenfell rowed in the famous Dead Heat Boat Race of 1877. Later became Lord Desborough, and was Chairman of the Thames Conservancy for over thirty years. RC "Rudy" Lehman was famous mostly as a coach, training both Oxford and Cambridge crew during the period 1891-1903. Both featured in the cartoons by "Spy", Grenfell in 1890 and Lehman in 1895.
