of varnished mahogany, decorated with crossed oars and a Kentish white horse on a red/white shield, with the initials "MRC", possibly a prize. Built into a later wooden armchair in pine. 35.5x20.30in(90x51x76cm)

The Medway Rowing Club was founded in the 1890's. It amalgamated with Chatham & Gillingham Rowing Club in 1958 to form the Medway Towns Rowing Club, still active today at Rochester.
