Footnotes
National 14ft. K22 “Pussyfoot” designed by Charles Nicholson and built by Lallow of Cowes in 1924, for Mr G Marvin. Charles Nicholson, a famous yacht designer, was important in the early history of the class, producing a series of clinker National 14ft dinghies for the Island Cruising Club in the mid 1920’s. Influences from Uffa Fox (who built several of Nicholson’s boats) and Morgan Giles transformed the class and “Pussyfoot” exhibits many of these innovations although still retaining the gunter sloop rig. She took part in the first Prince of Wales Cup competition in 1927.
