"This enormous but beautiful and remarkably well-fed trout was caught by a line with a Gudgeon set by Joshua Samuel Crompton in the river Ure, exactly opposite Esholt Hall, June 14th 1824 – it weighted upwards of seven pounds was 24 inches and half long and 15 inches in girth over the shoulder. – It was eaten on the 19th of the same month fifteen people were helped plentifully .. when it was presented …to be the richest and most highly flavoured trout that had even been tasted. – This exact representation was taken by Henrietta Matilda Crompton"
