in a river bed setting amongst ferns against a dark graduated green backboard bears label to top left for J Cooper and Sons 78 Bath Road Hounslow Middx. The gilt legend reads: Barbel 11lbs 8ozs Caught by D. Leary, Royalty Fishery, Christchurch 22nd Aug. 1948.This notable specimen is offered by the captor’s family together with a photograph of Mr. Leary holding the fish.
