The medal with blue border and text, the reverse inscribed: Challenge Shield J. Aspinall* Gorton A. Bollington Aug. 28th 1927. A glass eyed Norwich spoon with replacement trace, a live bait mount, a split Devon, a jointed plug and four other baits and a B. Ramsbottom Maker Manchester three piece greenheart whole cane and ash fly rod 9ft repaired, a three piece built cane fly rod 9ft, with suction ferrules and re-rings with coarse rings,a Dam gerat und Damyl Fabelhaft! No. 25 Angelgerate katalog. 112 numbered pages in two tone with some full colour illustrations. Map of the Trout and Salmon Waters of Scotland published by British Field Sports Society. Printed in Gt. Britain 1947 and a CHA & S.C Physical Culture 1927 the circular metal medal with central shield bearing the date 1927 the reverse engraved E. Worsnip. The medal hung from a black and white ribbon with bar engraved 1929.

Mr Jack Aspinall was the vendors’ uncle, he was a member of the County Palatine Anglers, winning 15 angling medals, the others were shared between his daughters. He lived in Romily, Cheshire and fished the club waters around Cheshire and Manchester which later became The Northern Anglers. At the time of press, research has not confirmed in which events he won his medals.
