With tapering double-edged blade of flattened hollow diamond section inlaid with serrated brass foliate decoration on each side of the forte (some losses), iron basket guard of characteristic 'Irish' form comprising flattened vertical bars framing a saltire on each side centreing on a circular panel, fore-guards, large globular pommel with button finial, and later fishskin-covered grip bound with twisted copper wire, the surfaces encrusted with conventional silver foliage overall within line borders, the circular panels and pommel with winged cherubs' heads (rust patinated overall, the silver rubbed and incomplete)
