An English Brass-Mounted Plug Bayonet
Late 17th Century

With broad triangular blade double-edged towards the point and deeply struck on one face at the forte with a King's head mark, hilt with short straight brass quillons each terminating in a cast helmeted warrior's head, deep pommel en suite, brass basal ferrule, and tapering spirally-grooved figured hardwood grip with compressed swelling at the base
