With bright sharply pointed blade of hollow diamond section, the forte etched with bladesmith's name 'Clauberg Solingen' centred on their trade mark, an armoured figure, on one side, and with hilt maker's name 'Fokin, St. Peterburg' in cyrillic, an Imperial eagle above on the other, gilt-brass regulation hilt comprising recurved quillons engraved 'For Bravery' in Russian on each side, and stamped beneath with hilt maker's name in cyrillic, an Imperial eagle above, threaded gilt-brass pommel-cap, and swelling gilt-brass grip spirally ribbed centrally and bound with twisted wire, in original leather-covered wooden scabbard with characteristic gilt-brass mounts and two rings for suspension, and retaining most of its original gilding overall
