With long broad fullered blade double-edged towards the point and with a narrow fuller bordering the back over most of its length on each side, the forte on each side etched with crowned 'GR' monogram, a sprig of laurel above, a Garter star above 'Unparelled' below, the back of the blade dated and etched 'Warranted Never To Fail', large steel basket-hilt comprising slotted oval guard drawn-up to form the fluted knuckle-guard, joined on each side by scrolled bars of partly faceted flattened oval section linked at the bottom on each side by two S-shaped bars, faceted ovoidal pommel with large button, and spirally grooved leather-covered grip (some worming) bound with silver ribbon (some rust patination)
