An Unusual Light Cavalry Officer's Sword Of 1788 Pattern Type
By Harvey, Birm.m., Dated 1787

With curved blade double-edged at the point and fullered over its entire length on each side, and with a narrow fuller bordering the back for most of its length on each side, the back of the blade at the forte with etched maker's details and date, stirrup hilt of regulation form with slender double langets on both sides, beaked flat pommel and back-piece in one, and ribbed leather-covered grip (worn) originally bound with twisted wire (some pitting overall)
