With rebrowned twist sighted barrel, recessed patent breech with platinum line, platinum-lined rectangular maker's stamp and platinum-lined touch-hole, foliate engraved tang (retaining screw replaced) incorporating a standing back-sight with large aperture, signed border engraved detented lock decorated with a starburst and foliage, safety-catch (replaced), 'French' cock (top-jaw and screw replaced) and steel with roller bearing on a ramp on the steel-spring, the steel engraved 'Joseph Manton Patent', figured half-stock (fore-end split, lacquered overall) with chequered rounded butt, border engraved iron mounts comprising butt-cap and trigger-guard, the latter serial numbered within an oval against a martial trophy on the bow, trigger-plate with pineapple finial, vacant silver escutcheon, and horn-tipped ramrod, possibly original (worn and rust patinated overall, some engraving refreshed)
