A Flintlock Officer's Pistol Of Carbine Bore
By Whately, Probably John Of Birmingham, Circa 1800

With rebrowned twist barrel with sighting flat along the top, foliate engraved tang, signed border engraved rounded lock stamped '3' crowned under the pan, engraved with a flowerhead on the tail and with roller, figured full stock (fore-end partly replaced) with chequered rounded butt, border engraved iron mounts comprising side-plate, rounded butt-cap and trigger-guard, the last with foliage on the bow, and iron ramrod, possibly original, Tower Private proof marks
