A Flintlock Box-Lock Blunderbuss-Pistol
By W. Parker, Maker To His Majesty, London, Early 19th Century

With brass barrel and action in one piece, the former in three stages, turned and belled at the muzzle and stamped with later Hindi inscriptions extending along the border engraved octagonal breech, one side engraved 'Maker To His Majesty', the latter signed within an oval on a martial trophy on each side, engraved thumbpiece safety-catch also locking the steel, sliding trigger-guard engraved with a line of foliage, chequered figured rounded butt with silver butt-cap engraved with a starburst centred on the retaining screw, vacant silver escutcheon, and side-mounted brass-tipped ramrod, probably original, Birmingham proof marks
