A Cased Pair Of 50-Bore Rifled Percussion Box-Lock Pocket Pistols
Signed Cutler, Probably John, London, Circa 1840

With case-hardened turn-off octagonal sighted barrels each engraved around the muzzle, signed along the top flat and rifled with nine grooves, foliate scroll engraved case-hardened actions and dolphin hammers, the former each incorporating a back-sight, blued folding trigger, figured chequered rounded butts each with white-metal lion-mask butt-cap, vacant white-metal escutcheons, and some of their original finish: in original fitted mahogany case lined in burgundy velvet (some fading) with accessories including case-hardened barrel/nipple key, bullet mould and brass-mounted flask, the last retaining much of its original lacquered finish, the exterior of the lid with vacant brass escutcheon with clipped corners, Birmingham proof marks
