A Caucasian Shasqua
Reign Of Nicholas II (1894-1917), Late 19th/Early 20th Century

With earlier curved slender fullered blade (some pitting) double-edged towards the point and clipped-back along the back beyond the forte to the yelman, characteristic hilt with pommel and basal mount encased in nielloed silver embossed and chased with scrolling foliage in low relief against lightly gilt finely stippled grounds, the former with applied pierced crowned silver cypher of Nicholas II on one side, and with rounded dark horn grips, in wooden scabbard recovered in black leather with original silver locket, pierced chape and suspension mounts en suite with the hilt, one of the last with a ring for suspension
