With curved fullered single-edged blade (some pitting) retaining traces of etching on each side towards the forte, the latter etched on each side with decorative panels containing Arabic inscriptions probably reading 'The servant (of God) al-Thamir' and 'In Jidda', silver hilt nielloed with flowering foliage enriched with gilt panels and comprising downscrolled quillons, and grip (split along the inside) with rounded pommel and flat along each side, in original leather-covered wooden scabbard with deep silver locket and chape en suite with the hilt and each engraved with Qur'anic inscriptions and invocations to God, suspension mounts en suite and each with a ring for suspension
