A Cased Pair Of Liège 32-Bore Percussion Target Pistols
No. 615, Circa 1850

With etched twist octagonal sighted barrels each rifled with fourteen grooves, foliate scroll engraved breeches, tangs each incorporating the back-sight, detented locks, hammers and mounts, the last comprising shaped hinged pommels each drawn-out to a flat diamond-shaped terminal and pivoting open to reveal a cavity for caps, spur trigger-guards, and fore-end caps also forming the ramrod-entry, highly figured maple half-stocks with fluted butts, brass-tipped ramrods, and retaining nearly all their original dull grey finish: in original fitted rosewood case lined in plum velvet with full accessories including flask embossed with a cupid and a stag, representative of the love of hunting, within a suspended cartouche on each side, the exterior of the lid with vacant brass escutcheon, Liège proof
