A Pair Of French 40-Bore Percussion Target Or Duelling Pistols
By Dabat A Paris, Circa 1830

Rebuilt from flintlock, with octagonal sighted polygroove rifled barrels swamped towards the muzzles, grooved for sighting over most of their length and each signed in gold script towards the grooved breeches, grooved tangs each engraved with an arrow and incorporating a back-sight, signed border engraved flat bevelled locks, foliate engraved hammers, steel mounts comprising shaped side-nail plates, one engraved with a pair of winged sea-monsters, ovoidal pommel-caps each engraved with a flowerhead, foliate engraved spur trigger-guards each with urn of flowers finial, set triggers, and no provision for ramrods (some minor rust patination) (2)
