Signed Fusil Robert Bté A Paris, No. 140. C20D, Circa 1835

With rebrowned twist sighted barrels each stamped with maker's mark of Jean Nicolas Leclerc (Neue Støckel 187) at the breech, signed in gold along the damascus twist rib and struck with a series of marks, bright hinged breech-cover engraved with foliage and inscribed 'Academie De L'Indie Francaise, Médaille D'Or 1833' within a circle, engraved integral release-catch held by a catch in the comb of the butt, figured maple half-stock with chequered grip and fore-end, the latter carved with foliage at the end, and steel mounts comprising butt-plate engraved with foliage on the tang, and trigger-guard with a martial trophy on the bow
