With rebrowned twist sighted barrels signed 'Pauley & Cie A Paris' in brass script along the breeches, and with diamond-shaped brass inlays either side of the silver fore-sight and on each breech, hinged breech-cover engraved with foliage and with two small gas-escapes, one side signed within an oval, and inscribed 'Invon. Pauly Perfectionne' within an oval on the other, integral release-catch held by a catch in the comb of the butt, foliate engraved hammers each with spur chiselled as a plumed close-helmet, figured half-stock with cheekpiece, chequered grip and fore-end (minor repair, barrel-bolt missing), foliate engraved steel mounts including hinged butt-plate opening to reveal two apertures, sling mounts, and later steel ramrod (steel parts with some rust patination)
