With plain barrel and tang, border engraved flat bevelled lock with 'GR' crowned and 'Tower' across the tail and stamped with a crowned '2' below the pan, figured full stock (fore-end with two repairs) stamped with Board of Ordnance ownership mark behind the raised apron, regulation brass mounts including pommel numbered '12' above a punched 'S' on one side, later belt hook, and later brass-capped ramrod, King's proof marks
