A Pair Of Fingered Gauntlets
Early 17th Century, Probably German

Of blackened steel, each comprising a flared boxed cuff with low medial ridge, and slender turned and roped border with a line of domed brass-headed rivets, roped boss (one damaged) over the ulna, seven overlapping metacarpal plates, and knuckle-plates embossed over each knuckle, all articulated on domed brass-headed rivets, overlapping finger plates (some replacements) riveted to leathers, separate hinged thumb-guards en suite, and leather wrist-straps, one apparently original, with iron buckles (2)
