A Composite Italian Sword
Late 15th Century

With broad double-edge blade with short central fuller over each side of the forte and struck with a mark on one side beyond, hilt comprising long straight quillons of flattened hexagonal section tapering to downturned tips, and with a flattened central point on each side, 'scent-stopper' pommel of octagonal section, and wooden bottle-shaped grip (some splits and damage) with remains of leather (?) covering (some pitting overall)
