With slightly tapering blade double-edged at the point and with a narrow fuller for most of its length along the back-edge on each side, the forte on both sides retaining traces of stamped running fox mark of Samuel Harvey of Birmingham, iron guard of flattened rounded bars framing fretted incised panels pierced with hearts and circles, and with an oval aperture for reins on each side, fore-guards, bun-shaped pommel with button, and spirally grooved fishskin-covered wooden grip originally bound with twisted brass wire, and retaining its hessian liner lined in cloth and faced with red baize, in its leather scabbard (damaged, chape missing) with brass locket (areas of surface rust overall)
