A 1751 Pattern Sword, And A Naval Hanger
The First Circa 1769, The Last Late 18th Century

The first with slightly curved blade (rust patinated) double-edged towards the point and with a narrow fuller along the back-edge on each side, indistinctly struck on each side with the running wolf mark of Samuel Harvey of Birmingham, brass hilt (rear quillon missing) comprising heart-shaped guard with two rounded bars on the outside swept-up to join the knuckle-guard, globular brass pommel with large button, and swelling spirally twist brass grip; the second with curved fullered blade (some pitting) double-edged at the point, regulation slotted hilt with knuckle-guard, globular pommel engraved with a fouled anchor and with turned button, and spirally grooved swelling wooden grip (split) bound with remains of copper ribbon (2)
