A North European Cavalry Sword
Mid-17th Century

With curved single-edged blade with narrow fuller along the back-edge for most of its length on each side, hilt of rounded bars comprising downbent swelling rear quillon, side-rings each filled with a plate pierced with circular holes, joined to the pommel and knuckle-guard by outer hand-guards, each with double central swelling and linked on one side by a slender diagonal bar, inner thumb-ring, globular brass pommel, and cord-bound leather-covered grip (some pitting overall)
