Six Continental Sword Blades, Three Dagger Blades, And An Excavated Spear Head
Mostly 18th Century

The first double-edged towards the point and decorated with bright-cut chequering over half its length towards the point on each side, the remaining surfaces etched and gilt with foliage, a bird, a trophy of arms, the figure of Justice and an armed warrior, all against a blued ground (blueing worn) decorated with designs of hollowed ovals; the second fullered and single-edged, in its tooled black leather scabbard (worn, chape missing) with silver locket (suspension clip missing); the third (shortened and pitted) retaining faint traces of etching; the fourth of hollow triangular section; the fifth (shortened) chiselled with the figure of a Saint against a gilt stippled ground on each side; the sixth curved, fullered and double-edge towards the clipped-back point, the forte with etched and gilt decoration; the seventh with pierced deeply fullered forte; the eighth and ninth each adapted from a sword-blade (one pitted, one damaged); and the last with slender tapering point, and integral socket of tapering circular section (10)
