A Medieval Great Sword
First Half Of The 14th Century

In excavated condition, with broad double-edged blade (lower half missing, drilled with two small holes at the base) with shallow central fuller over each face, hilt comprising long slender quillons of slightly swelling circular section, long flat tapering tang, chamfered wheel pommel with raised central square on each side, and small separate brass button
50 cm. blade, 73.4 cm. overall
