An Unusual North Italian Breast-Plate Of 'Pisan' Type Made For A Youth
Late 16th Century

Of peasecod form with low medial ridge and narrow flange at the base, and characteristic etched decoration arranged in bands tapering towards the bottom, at the top two embossed and roped volutes framing profile heads below the turned and roped neck, and turned and roped moveable armhole gussets (one missing, the other incomplete) etched en suite (some wear and surface rust overall)
